New Facebook Ap Helps You Find Friends in Washington Who Haven’t Voted Yet

Have your friends in Washington state voted yet? Want to find out who might need a friendly reminder to mark “Approved” on Referendum 74 and return their ballot?

There’s an ap for that! Get it on the Marriage Hero dashboard.

The ap cross-references the state’s “hasn’t voted yet” list with your Facebook friends list. This is possible because while how you vote is private, whether you’ve cast your ballot is public information.

Washington is a vote-by-mail state, so voters can mark and return their ballots at any time. The sooner you vote, the sooner you’re dropped from the state’s “hasn’t voted yet” list (and the sooner you stop getting campaign mail and calls).

To keep Washington’s bipartisan freedom-to-marry law on the books, voters must mark “Approved” on Referendum 74 and deposit their ballots in an official drop box or get it postmarked (not the same as dropping in a mail box – be sure to check mail pick up times) by 8pm on Nov. 6.
